Kelsey and Drew’s Tampa wedding at Westshore Yacht Club was surrounded by family, friends, rain, and sunshine….isn’t this exactly the way that life is?! When you met Kelsey and Drew, it is obvious that they truly enjoy spending time together, usually outdoors, often times boating or fishing, or at a concert. Drew even gifted all of his groomsmen with custom fishing rods (needless to say…there were quite a few rod jokes….). When I share the stories of my couples’ wedding days I always like share some insight into who they are, a bit about their day, and a lot about all of the fun that always takes place on wedding day. For me, this wedding had all sorts of surprises that had to do with…me! I do not want this story to be about me, but Kelsey insisted I share some of this. To being with, just as the bridal party was about to get introduced at the reception, Drew’s dad tells me I was there when Drew had his appendix out. What?? So, long story, but I used to be a Child Life Specialist in pediatrics and turns out I was the one who provided education and support for him when he was a kid going into surgery (how did his dad recall that?! I was amazed. And how am I that old?! LOL) It did make me feel very special though, I have to admit. OK, enough about me…..Kelsey had a special surprise for Drew for his wedding gift, a beauty session album that we created together. Ladies, if you are ever at a loss for what to get your groom-to-be…I can assure you, this is something he will LOVE. His reaction was so priceless, while we were photographing him, we took a quick video, and later showed it to the girls….you can see everyone’s reactions below! Kelsey chose to have a First Look with her dad and a First Look with Drew…always a favorite moment!
Their church ceremony at Palma Ceia Presbyterian Church was so special and meaningful. At their reception, the rain did not put even the slightest damper on the evening- the dancing continued and no one missed a beat. In fact, I thanked Mother Nature because rain brings in the very BEST SUNSETS (which was something I had already experienced with the couple at their Tampa engagement session HERE.) DeLeon kept the dance floor packed- and even Kelsey and Drew’s dads hopped on the stage to perform a couple songs for them! It was such a beautiful surprise! Congratulations tot eh stunning couples and thank you for trusting us to capture your wedding day! Wishing you a lifetime of love and smiles!

What a beautiful wedding day for Brie and Sean at the Westshore Yacht Club. Brie and Sean met through mutual friends in Ft. Lauderdale; after some long distance dating, Brie moved from Tampa, they got engaged, and are now happily married! Sean is originally from south Africa (yes, he has an amazing accent!) and and is a tennis pro and Brie works in IT. They now live in south Florida, coincidentally by my old home in Cooper City.
We had a great afternoon with our bride and groom getting ready. Brie had her girl squad with her to get glam, while Sean relaxed with his mom and dad. (We loved watching them help Sean get dressed!) Brie opted for something special on wedding day that was so unique, we had never seen it before…3 first looks. Her father, her brothers, and Sean all waited in anticipation to see their lovely lady. It was well worth the wait, too, as each reaction was priceless!
Their wedding day was nothing short of magical; complete with an intimate ceremony decorated in ivory and blush florals and a waterfront reception under the stars with their closest friends and family. We even chased the sun to create some gorgeous sunset portraits, complete with a blowing veil for added drama! Brie and Sean also knew they wanted a unique wedding and incorporated Sean’s South African culture into their cuisine…meat kebobs, stew, rice….it was delicious. We love when couples find special ways to add their heritage and personalities into wedding details.
After some sweet parent dances and toasts celebrating our bride and groom, guests were quick to jump on the dance floor and bust a move. Everyone helped in blessing Brie and Sean throughout the end of the evening and we could feel all of the love as everyone danced and sang. It was such a wonderful day and we were so honored to spend it with them, capturing all of their special moments.
Special thanks to the wonderful friendors who helped in making Brie and Sean’s day so special:

Tampa waterfront weddings are so incredibly beautiful- especially in December (yeah…us Floridians are pretty lucky!), and especially at the Westshore Yacht Club. Megan and Kyle are the perfect yin and yan….two halves that together complete wholeness. She is elegant, reserved, kind, and smart. He is outgoing, silly, caring, and “the best damn salesman on the planet”. Together they are such a complimentary pair. The bride and groom chose to do a “First Look”, in part to calm their nerves and in part to allow them more time to relax and enjoy their guests. Not only did they have a gorgeous waterfront view to say their vows in front of but they were blessed with a stunning Tampa sunset- and a waterfront reception that captured the Bay’s breezes. It was pretty much the perfect wedding day- and we are so very happy for them!
Megan looked stunning in her wedding gown from The White Closet. It fit her like a glove! (She looks this amazing AND she is in PA school..gorgeous and SMART!)
Kyle and the guys were quite stylish in their deep blue tuxedos. (Kyle knows a thing or two about fashion…being that he was once a toilet paper model! :))
I absolutely LOVE when brides have their bridesmaid in unique bridesmaids dresses that allow each girl to flatter her own body type and skin tones. It creates such a beautiful dynamic.
The “First Look”…Megan teased Kyle a bit by not letting him look immediately- he was DYING!
The wedding ceremony was waterfront, right on Tampa Bay by the boats (perfect for these two who love the water- and fishing!)
Even though the couple did a First Look, Kyle was still tearful when he saw his bride come down the aisle.
Oh that Tampa sunset…it will never get old….especially on wedding day!
The first dance for the bride and groom…with the most colorful sky as their backdrop!
The groom and his mom shared some laughs.
Megan’s dad surprised her with an emotional slideshow of images from her childhood during the father-daughter dance.
How about a dessert TABLE that included multiple cakes AND donuts? YES please!
Can you spot the bride and groom? This dance floor was packed!
