“Friendor” Friday with Jackie Ross of Table 6 Productions

We are super excited to start a new weekly edition to our blog called. “Friendor” Friday! We will have some of Tampa’s best and talented wedding vendors take over the ADP blog to talk about their business and offer some tips and insight about their part in the wedding industry. Each week will highlight a “friendor” in a different field so you can meet and learn about these amazing individuals! First up is our good friend and wedding coordinator, Jackie Ross, from Table 6 Productions!

Tell us a bit about yourself and your company: Table 6 Productions is lucky enough to have industry longevity. I truly feel it is due to our innovative design ideas and attentiveness to even the tiniest detail. Those creative details are what truly personalize any event. Of course I am always proud of our awards and features, but personal referrals are the greatest acknowledgment of our passion for weddings!

What made you want to be a wedding planner? It’s funny because I truly fell into this industry. I hired Shannon Wilson of Table 6 Productions to plan my wedding because I had a demanding corporate America career. We became close friends and I assisted her with a couple of weddings, which is when I realized I wanted to be a wedding planner. I loved every aspect… even creating the budgets 🙂

What is your favorite part about your job? I know this sounds cliché, but my favorite part is the people that I meet. Some of my closest friends are vendors and past clients.

What is the biggest lesson you have learned? I have learned that just as every client is unique, so is every wedding! Weddings are not cookie-cutter! A planner has to be able to adapt to each client’s individuality.

Any great stories from working with a client? I once had a best man come up to me right before the ceremony and tell me he left the bride’s wedding band at the hotel. I immediately took off my wedding band and handed it over. Don’t worry… I got it back 🙂

Favorite trend? Or one you wish brides would leave behind? I like that brides are gravitating towards color again. The industry went through a phase of whites, ivories and champagne. While gorgeous… change is always nice!

Favorite color combination? I am in love with Pantone’s Color of the Year, Marsala (an earthy wine color). It pairs perfectly with dusty blue!!

Tips for couples who have just started the wedding process? Hire a wedding planner FIRST. We can help with contract review and know the right questions to ask. We have also done the vendor research for you, thus able to recommend the best in the industry.

What are your hobbies or non-work related activities? I changed this to “My Favorite 5 Things” because I realized my hobbies are eating and sleeping. So… here they are: Blink-182, Paige jeans, banana pudding, Audrey Hepburn and eating breakfast for dinner.
