This week’s Fun Fact Friday is all about me, Kristin! Something pretty apparent to people I know (but not to y’all) is that I am basically an old soul trapped in a young person’s body. For starters, I love vinyl records. I have a small, yet awesome collection of about 80 (most are vintage that my grandmother passed down to me from her mother) and all I wanted last year for Christmas was a record player. Needless to say “Santa” brought me one, and it even hangs upright on my wall..pretty nifty. What do I listen to? My music range is super eclectic, I have everything from The Beatles, Frank Sinatra, Johnny Cash, Heart, Elvis, The Doors, Debussy (Clair de Lune is my favorite and I have a lot of different versions), to the Dirty Dancing soundtrack..(cue playing Time of My Life.) Something else I love are antiques! I feel like I am always calling dibs on things that my grandparents have at their house; recently I acquired all of my great-grandmother’s china, I am now in search of a curio cabinet to display them in. Can you say grandma status? Yes. That would totally be true, but I prefer the term “grandma chic.” So what, I like the color peach and have plans in my head of being the proud owner of a doily collection someday (to frame in a cool modern way, of course). Lastly, I live in an apartment that was built in the 1920’s in Northeast St. Petersburg. Real wood floors, NO central air, and bathroom walls covered in pink shiny masonite. But that’s what I love and luckily I have been told I am a good decorator (almost became an interior designer) so I somehow manage to pull it off.
