We always get very excited when we know we have a Saturday that will be filled with love; this past weekend was no different. The Tampa weather Gods looked out for us and blessed Christine and Josh with some beyond beautiful weather and clear skies for their Tampa wedding. We have to say, Christine and Josh were one of the most relaxed and go-with-the-flow couples we’ve ever had. It was truly a special day.
We first met Christine at the church, where she was calmly preparing details for the day (she DIY’d a majority of her wedding details); wrapping bouquets and tying twine around the guy’s boutonnieres. With the help of some family members, Christine and Josh’s wedding decor was beautifully handcrafted. We even told her she could switch professions!
“Since Josh proposed to me in Tennessee over Thanksgiving week, we felt that it would be a nice touch to infuse his parents farm house and the outdoors to our venues. After days of Pinteresting ideas and wanting to keep it simple, I thought we should use the old barn-wood from the Parsons’ farm. Then the idea of using baby’s breath would give it that soft and simple touch. Navy blue is Josh’s favorite color and I love the combination of the navy blue, blush pink, and a dash of gold. So the colors came pretty easy.”
She and her bridesmaids chatted and got dressed for the day, opened presents, and anxiously waited for the wedding ceremony. The men on the other hand were a little more nervous, but not for the reason you would expect. It turned out, none of the men knew how to tie their bowties! It was quite a sight to see them troubleshooting the tying process; luckily one of the bridesmaids came to the rescue and saved the day.
The ceremony aisle was decorated with rose gold mercury glasses filled with baby’s breath and on stage was a lovely wooden backdrop for their nuptials. The two chose to have a knot ceremony, something we had never seen before, where bride and groom braided three ropes together to symbolize the start of their marriage, such a unique touch!
“Our favorite moment was when the doors opened and I walked down the aisle with my dad. Josh was in awe of me and I was overwhelmed by him patiently waiting and all the guests that came to witness our union. I’m pretty sure it showed as tears of joy rain down my face. Pastor Eric Meyer touched on both of us and with his heartfelt words and joined us together perfectly. After 6 months of countless hours of planning it all came out beautifully and all that I had envisioned it to be.”
We then headed off to their wedding reception site, the Tampa Firefighter’s Museum, where guests mingled and walked around the museum and read history of firefighters. This was especially significant to Josh, as he is a firefighter for Hillsborough county. His family even has an engraved brick in the museum itself. Upstairs was where the real party started. Christine and Josh danced the night away with their guests and nibbled on gourmet cupcakes. It was a great ending to a perfect day and we were so happy to share such a special time with them and capture memorable moments.
A special thanks to our Tampa wedding team who helped make Christine and Josh’s day so beautiful:
