Amelia Island Wedding Photography for Brittany and Mike

Brittany and Mike’s Amelia Island wedding was such a special day for us to capture. We had yet to photograph an Amelia Island wedding; it is the cutest little coastal town, with such Southern charm.  Brittany and her beautiful bridesmaids prepared for the big day at the Omni hotel, in a breathtaking suite. Not only was the ocean view stunning, but the grounds of the Omni were lush and picturesque. We enjoyed strolling with the bride and bridesmaids around the property and on the boardwalk by the water (and the brief rain did not put the slightest damper on this wedding day!).  Brittany has no shortage of friends, as evidenced by the ten bridemaids who wanted to help her celebrate her wedding day.

Their lovely ceremony beneath the trees of Walker’s Landing-Amelia Island Plantation was full of their closest family and friends. Brittany’s dad officiated the wedding and a large cross accented with flowers towered behind them, symbolizing the importance of faith and God in their relationship. Their indoor reception was decorated with stunning, pink floral centerpieces and glowing string lighting on the ceiling. With Brittany being a dancer all her life, she and Mike had choreographed their first dance to surprise wedding guests. Mike had said he was nervous about all of the lifts he had to do, we thought he was teasing us, but sure enough their intricate dance was full of lifts and turns and dips- it was fantastic and guests loved it!

After a delicious dinner and storytelling toasts, the dance floor opened up and guests danced with the bride and groom all night long. A scrumptious cake and dessert table was displayed for guests to snack on and a fun Polaroid photo table was open for guests to save some memories. At the end of the night, everyone gathered outside for a sparkler exit and Brittany and Mike boarded a light filled boat and sailed away while guests cheered and clapped for the happy bride and groom. It was a beyond special day, we are so glad we were able to capture such beautiful memories for them.

The bride and groom opted for a “First Look” and I am so glad they did.  With their later ceremony start time, a large wedding party, and an early sunset of 5:30pm, this allowed them to plenty of time together in the warm Florida sunshine while calming their nerves (and creating some lovely images).

Mike was not kidding when he said they had “lifts”….EIGHT of them to be exact in their first dance.  Look out Dancing With The Stars!
