Recently I was contacted by Waterline Maria Resort and Beachclub on Anna Maria Island to photograph the island’s newest resort. This boutique style hotel has 37 suites which will have you feeling right at home as soon as you walk through the door. Tranquil colors, soothing textures and small personal touches inspire a relaxed state of being. We immediately felt like we were on vacation, even though we were just an hour south of Tampa. This luxury resort is part of the Autograph Collection; you truly meet the genuine, Old Florida hospitality of Anna Maria Island. We were able to experience just a few of the accommodations while we were there, including a private fishing charter, dining at Eliza Ann’s Coastal Kitchen, bike riding on the resort bike rentals around the island, room service for a delicious breakfast, kayak and paddle-board rentals on the beach, along with customized lunches packed and ready for us to enjoy in the sand.
This one-of-a-kind hotel truly serves the discerning tastes of those looking for travel accommodations beyond the ordinary, predictable routine of hotel chains. The rooms are distinctively individualized, stylishly unconventional and uncompromisingly upscale. They also have a 50-slip marina, for those wishing to arrive by boat for the ultimate Florida getaway. While the weather was rather chilly the first 2 days we were there, the staff was so warm and friendly that the visit was not deterred at all. The charm of this island welcomed us in with its shops, restaurants, ice-cream parlors, local drinking establishments, and of course, stunning white beaches.
If you are considering a destination wedding, Waterline has you covered. You have the option of a beachfront ceremony or intercostal event, plus access to their beautiful ballroom. It’s the perfect escape from the ordinary and I know many of my brides and groom will love the luxury and high attention to detail that this resort gives. Check out some of the many reasons why you will want to take your next vacation (or mini-staycation) at Waterline in Anna Maria.
